Join our client in Wythenshawe as an Information Governance Officer and play a key role in shaping data compliance and privacy practices. This is a great opportunity to work with a team dedicated to building a safe and secure data culture.
You will need to have solid experience working as an Information Governance Officer and a strong understanding of UK GDPR and data protection legislation, along with proven experience within information management.
This is a customer first organisation, and it would be beneficial to have previous experience of working within social housing, however this is not essential.
Possessing certifications in Information Risk Management and/or Data Protection is highly desirable for this role!
This will be a fixed term contract until March 2026, offering an annual salary of £37,654pa (pro rata)
The hours are full time, 35 hours per week, and hybrid working is available.
What will you be doing as an Information Governance Officer?
- Be the go-to person for data protection and information governance queries
- Support the DPO with policy reviews and operational improvements
- Coordinate and advise on Subject Access Requests and other rights-based requests
- Deliver engaging training sessions on data protection and compliance
- Assist with legal documentation like Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy notices
- Review internal data processes to identify areas for improvement
- Promote a positive data culture across teams
We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- A Foundation Certificate in Information Risk Management or Data Protection (or working towards it)
- A strong understanding of UK GDPR and data protection legislation
- Experience with Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests
- Previous experience within social housing would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills, able to educate and engage at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- A passion for training and developing others
